Overview: the goal of CRC is to support top-level research within the Computer Science department at UPB by providing research grants, supporting travel expenses to participate at top conferences and providing support for patent applications.

The awardees can be researchers at different stages in their carreers, from young and talented post-docs, including those who have studied abroad, as well as experienced researchers whether in the CS department or wishing to join it.

CRC organizes yearly Research Fairs which are informal meetings between industry and researchers aimed to foster collaboration and alignment of interests. The 2018 Research Fair was the first edition and it included a brief talks session followed by a poster session and reception. The talks were opened by Costin Raiciu (slides here) followed by the four grantees for 2018: Alina Balan, Marios Choudary, Alexandru Radovici and Iuliu Vasilescu. CRC organizes yearly a Research Grants competition meant to help junior faculty secure early-stage research funding.

The 2021 grants competition is now open. Please submit your latest and greatest research projects here.

Previous versions include the 2018 edition and the 2019 edition. The deadline for the 2020 edition will be in Spring 2020; further details will be posted here.

CRC supports the research grants from funding it receives from UEFISCDI (Romanian Government), European Comissions (Horizon 2020) and University Politehnica of Bucharest. CRC would like to thank our industry partners for supporting research in CS@UPB, namely:
