Code

Unikraft an OS toolkit that allows building fast, lightweight OS images around your favourite POSIX applications with great ease.
htsim simulator (for TCP, MPTCP and NDP), including datacenter topology implementations.
NDP implementation (including stack, switch and simulator).
Beamer stateless datacenter load balancer.
Symnet - a symbolic execution engine for network-wide dataplane verification.

Research Interests

Network verification: the CORNET project (ERC Starting Grant) aims to ensure networks are provably correct. It extends our Symnet/SEFL work (Sigcomm 2016) to verify P4 programs (Vera, Sigcomm 2018) and to test for equivalence between different dataplanes (netdiff, NSDI 2019).
Lightweight virtualization: LightVM is a redesign of Xen to enable booting VMs in a few ms (SOSP 2017). To achieve such low boottimes, LightVM needs small VMs, e.g. unikernels. Unikraft is an open-source project we are involved in that aims to automatically create unikernels from POSIX-compliant apps.
Datacenter networking: the NDP network stack (Sigcomm 2017) that uses a novel switch service model (trim packets to headers and forward headers/packets with weighted round robin) to construct a radical transport protocol that provides low latency and high throughput simultaneously.

Wifi TPC - outrageous opinions talk given at Sigcomm 2015 that used Wifi quality to estimate how good the presented paper really is. Using Wifi quality information gathered during the conference, we were able to predict the best paper award before it was announced officially.
